From The Kitchen
Here you will find a collection of stories, notes, and moments showcasing the true heart of Rowy’s Preservation Nation.
The First Jar
Our very first product wasn’t a cucumber at all.
It was spicy pickled beans. The recipe intrigued me.
Rowy was about a year and a half old when I let him try one of our spicy beans. I wasn’t sure what to expect. I just wanted to see his reaction.
To my surprise he smiled and killed the entire jar.
He was always a little old man, a true Lazare.
That moment stuck with me. This photo became our original logo, and a reminder of why we do what we do — real food, made with care, shared with family, and always meant to be enjoyed.
The vision has grown since then, but that first jar still means everything to us.
Our First Home
Not long after, we found our first home.
A small, converted office tucked inside the once-famous Jacob’s Hardware Mall. It wasn’t fancy, but it was ours. That little kitchen is where we made our mark, landed our first retail stores, and became friends with many customers and store owners.
It was a short-lived chapter, but a good one.
Feeling on top of the world. Starting any business alongside your father is probably any entrepreneurs dream. This seemed like a large order of jars at the time. Funny to look back at, as we go through that on any given morning these days.
Order size: Approx. 120 jars & caps.
Where we are today!
Happily pickling away, enjoying our kids, and selling at local events or our very own storefront!
